:: GUNUNG
MULU NATIONAL PARK, SARAWAK ::

This is Sarawak's largest national park, covering
an area of 544sq km. The park contains Sarawak's
second-highest peak, Gunung Mulu a sandstone outcrop
standing at 2376m. There is also the 1750m Gunung
Api, an impressive limestone outcrop. The park
is noted for its diverse vegetation which varies
from peat swamp to limestone and forest terrain.
This national park contains about 1500 species
of flowering plants, including 10 species of the
famous pitcher plant.

ATTRACTIONS :: |
Caving
is a popular pursuit here
as Gunung Mulu National Park has an extensive
underground cave system, which is one of
the largest in the world. The Deer Cave
runs through an entire mountain, and the
Clearwater Cave is the longest cave in South-East
Asia, with a length of about 51.5km. Other
caves in the park can be visited for adventure
caving. Other attractions include mountain
climbing, trekking and nature study.

:: GETTING
THERE ::

|
Mulu is accessible by air from either
Miri, Limbang or Marudi. It is also
accessible by river. However, visitors
wishing to make the journey by river
are advised to liaise with a tour
agency as there is no regular boat
service to Mulu.
