::  WHERE TO BUY IN MALAYSIA  ::
 Kuala Lumpur ::

Kuala Lumpur, the commercial hub of the country, has its fair share of famous landmarks, historical relics and heritage buildings and a pulsating night life to keep visitors occupied day and night. Coupled with this, there is the excitement of shopping within the cool comfort of ultra-modern, one-stop shopping complexes and the thrill of browsing among antiques and curios in the old part of the city.
 Central Market ::
A favourite spot to watch craft making, painting and to buy souvenirs among both locals and tourists is the Central Market. This former wet market has been transformed into a modern, air-conditioned shopping bazaar with a wide variety of local crafts and souvenirs for sale. It is also well-known for its food outlets where the best of local cuisine is served. Across the Central Market is the 'Goldsmiths Row', jewellery shops where gold, diamonds, jade and other precious stones are offered at reasonable prices. Other major handicraft and souvenir outlets are the Kompleks Budaya Kraf at Jalan Conlay, the Infokraf Centre at Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin and the Batik Malaysia Berhad outlets in the city centre. These establishments offer exquisite silverware, pewter, wood carvings, batik or brocade (songket). One should also visit the Royal Selangor factory at Setapak where a fascinating range of pewter-ware such as mugs, goblets, cutlery, ash trays and figurines are available.For a sample of something uniquely Malaysian, visit Chinatown in Petaling Street, dubbed 'The Bargain Centre'. This is one of the busiest and most colourful parts of the city. At night, the midsection of the street is closed to traffic and the entire area is transformed into a bustling, brightly-lit night market. Another important shopping precinct is Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman. Along both sides of this busy road are rows of shops selling a variety of merchandise: clothing, shoes, cosmetics, sports goods, household items, electrical and electronic products.

 Jalan Bukit Bintang ::

Jalan Bukit Bintang, the 'Golden Mile' of Kuala Lumpur was once famous for 'BB Park', an entertainment complex located on the site of the present Sungei Wang Plaza and BB (Bukit Bintang) Plaza. In the post-war era, it was the 'in place' in Kuala Lumpur with its nightclubs, shops and fairground carnivals.Today, the area has several ultra-modern shopping and commercial complexes, interspersed with towering international hotels. Shoppers have a choice of browsing through hundreds of shops at Lot 10, Sungei Wang Plaza, BB Plaza, Starhill and Kuala Lumpur Plaza.Sungei Wang Plaza and BB Plaza are on Jalan Bukit Bintang and Jalan Sultan Ismail. BB Plaza has Metro Jaya as its anchor tenant. This large department store offers moderately priced to expensive goods such as clothes and accessories, shoes, hand-bags, cosmetics and toys. Other stores within the complex sell books, computers and hardware, electrical goods, cameras, furniture and pharmaceutical products. Near Petaling Street is the Kota Raya Shopping Complex. It has shops selling clothing, shoes, handbags and textiles at bargain prices.Just next door to Imbi Plaza, the Sungei Wang Plaza is still the favourite shopping spot for every one, comprising many small outlets offering leisure wear, sports gear, optical products, shoes, handbags and watches. Parkson Grand, a department store within the plaza has clothes, handbags, cosmetics, toys and household goods.Imbi Plaza, at the junction of Jalan Imbi and Jalan Sultan Ismail, is the place for computers, computer peripherals and related items.Lot 10 is located across the road from Sungei Wang Plaza to which it is linked by a covered pedestrian walkway. Shops dealing in oriental carpets are also found here. The other well known stores in Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman include Sogo, Pertama Complex, Globe Silk Store, Kamdar and G.S. Gill.
